Marci Rau, M.Div., BCC grew up in the Northwest immersed in the sense that God/Universe/Awareness of Oneness & All did not reside in one place or inside a certain set of four walls. There was a deep sense of presence in nature, deep sense of the energy of the Universe flowing through her and others, creating community in a way that too often modern society hides from us and keeps us from embodying, keeps us from each other. Marci listened to her body’s wisdom and ability to express the numinous and mystery that often eludes thoughts in words. (Marci still holds these to be true.)
Over the years Marci studied German and lived and worked in Germany for four years, traveling often to other countries delighting in various cultures, foods, peoples and languages, intentionally appreciating the differences and similarities places lift up. Marci also studied theology at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, where she continued to reside in the seeming tension of social justice and deep spiritual mystery. It was here that her expression of Spirit’s movement through dance became more public in worship, often enough bringing Professors to tears.
Marci is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), while most of her ministerial career has been as a Chaplain both in Hospice and currently in a trauma hospital. Simultaneously she received Spiritual Direction training and certification through Namaste with Sister Pat McCrann in 1994. Further trainings have continued to add depth and ease to Marci’s life and practice. These include InterPlay and Energy Editing.
InterPlay opens up deep play connection and creativity through grace and ease in movement, words, silence, and sound. Through InterPlay Marci with others holds lightly the seriousness and silliness of life as a way of exploring whatever is resonant in the moment.
Energy Editing easily releases old patterns so that they then become whispers of changes in the way we understand ourselves, people in our lives, and the world.
If you are an individual or group who relishes a companion and guide on your spiritual journey and the opportunity to tap into the mystery that is always present through talking, creativity, silence, dance, and energy work, then let’s go forward together deepening into that place where you find joy, love, and beauty. In the place of life-giving deepening, you can hear the call for change in yourself and change in the world. Marci also empowers you to celebrate and love yourself just as you are; the beautiful gift to the world meant to shine. The more we allow our light to shine, the more others are encouraged to shine also.
Amanda Gorman wrote in the poem “The Hill We Climb”
“… When day comes we step out of the shade, aflame and unafraid
The new dawn blooms as we free it
For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it, if only we’re brave enough to be it.”
